Job Description / Duties

We’re looking for a professional appraiser to fill an integral role in our Real Estate Services division. You’ll have considerable autonomy in appraising and negotiating the acquisition, lease and disposal of property for a variety of City departments. You will estimate the market value of properties, recommend purchases and disposals, maintain an inventory of City-owned properties, and prepare relevant documentation. This position involves considerable liaison with numerous internal and external contacts.
This is a fast-paced job requiring someone with highly developed negotiation, interpersonal, and organization skills. With at least five years of experience in property appraisal and negotiations, you have extensive knowledge of market values, property valuation methodology and land title office operations. Standing as a Senior Member with the International Right of Way Association would be considered an asset.

Qualifications / Required Skills

This opportunity is for a Property Agent Level 2 with the City of Prince George. While our ideal candidate would have a Bachelor’s degree, certification as an Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI) and diploma with the Real Estate Institute of BC, Appraisal Option (or significant work towards obtaining one), we invite all interested parties to apply, as lesser-qualified candidates may be considered for the role of Property Agent Level 1.
For this regular, full-time position, we offer an hourly wage starting at $40.15 plus an excellent benefits and pension package.
