Job Description / Duties

Provide real estate services to a dynamic provincial government agency

Senior Project Officer (Real Estate)

Burnaby, BC

You will assist in the management of BC Housing’s real estate portfolio by providing various real estate services.

You will provide services, in a team environment and within a project management framework, which may include:

- the acquisition of real estate (client needs assessment, site search and selection, value analysis, negotiations, due diligence, etc.)
- the disposition of real estate (developing and implementing marketing strategies, negotiations, contract management, etc.),
- property management (negotiating leases, licenses, SRWs and encroachments, dispute resolution, etc.)
- providing strategic real estate advice (market research, feasibility and risk analysis, financial analysis, land use planning and development, approvals, due diligence, etc.)

You will serve both internal and external clients by understanding their goals and objectives and providing the real estate services tailored to achieve those goals and objectives. You will retain and direct external consultants, lawyers, brokers and other service providers to assist you.

Qualifications / Required Skills

To be considered for this role you should have six years experience relating to real estate development, commercial real estate sales, real estate appraisal or real estate management, and a university degree in business administration, project management, land use planning, real estate development, real estate financing or a related field. You should have superior analytical, planning, organizational and problem solving skills, a proven ability to manage complex projects and experience negotiating complex real estate deals. Designated membership in a professional association such as the Appraisal Institute of Canada or the Real Estate Institute of British Columbia is an asset. A good knowledge of real estate law in British Columbia is an asset.
