Job Description / Duties

Altus Group has an immediate opening for a Senior Analyst within our Property Tax business unit in Vancouver, BC.

The Senior Analyst will provide a variety of property assessment and tax consulting services for all types of projects to new and existing clients with very limited review, assist directors and sr. directors with more complex projects and partner with other business units to explore synergy opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:
o Ensuring that all required property information, related property assessment and taxation, is obtained, organized, and accurately reviewed;
o Conducting research and collecting data from both internal databases and third party sources, with respect to market rental data, sales transactions, comparable assessment data, and general market information;
o Organizing, and preparing analysis, as well as client based progress and update reports using appropriate software;
o Assisting consultants with argument development and evidence submission;
o Preparing appeal document materials for consultant and director support; and
o Continuously upgrading knowledge regarding market and industry trends, property assessment and taxation practices and procedures and legislation.

Qualifications / Required Skills

o University degree or college diploma in a related discipline;
o Appropriate designation with the Institute of Municipal Assessors, a Provincial Assessment Association, the Appraisal Institute of Canada or a similar recognized real estate association will be considered an asset;
o Related work experience;
o Good knowledge of the Property Assessment valuation practices will be considered an asset;
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
o Very good research, quantitative and analytical skills;
o Very good writing skills in order to create comprehensive correspondence property assessment and taxation consulting reports;
o Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills;
o Proactive, and organized to meet tight deadlines;
o Ability to work flexible business hours when required; significant time investment required during periods in the year where clients have higher demand.
