Land Project Manager
Salary: $65,033.32 - $74,351.64 annually
The Partnerships Department in the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is responsible for facilitating the installation of transportation infrastructure throughout British Columbia.
The Properties and Land Management Branch is responsible for several billion dollars in land and water assets held by the BC Transportation Financing Authority (BCTFA), which is a Provincial Crown corporation. The BC Transportation Financing Authority (BCTFA) is established under the Transportation Act to plan, acquire, construct, hold and improve transportation infrastructure throughout the province. The BCTFA owns all provincial highways and land held for construction of future transportation infrastructure.
The Land Project Manager is responsible for managing land improvement projects to gain significant enhancements in land value and/or land use and, plays a key role in administrating partnership and contribution agreements. This position is also responsible for marketing of surplus lands and oversight of RFPs and contracts for services, such as appraisals and environmental works, to support marketing or maintenance of BCTFA land.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Qualifications for this role include:
• Degree in a related discipline (i.e., business, commerce, economics, planning, real estate, resource development or law) and a minimum of 5 years related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered (i.e., A diploma in a related discipline plus 7 years of related experience; a certificate plus 8 years related experience; etc.)
• Accreditation with a nationally recognized appraisal institute or society such as the Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI) designation, or accreditation with the Real Estate Institute of British Columbia (RIBC) is a requirement for this position. *Applicants will also be considered if they meet any of the following conditions:
o Applicants who are candidate members in good standings with either Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) or Real Estate Institute of British Columbia (RIBC);
o Applicants that currently possess an affiliate institute or society designation or qualification who meet the AIC or RIBC’s qualifications for immediate acceptance; or
o Applicants who have completed all the course work necessary to obtain the AACI or RIBC designation but have not yet applied.
• *NOTE: Documented proof of meeting the conditions above may be requested from the applicant as part of the hiring process.
• Minimum of 3 years practical experience, in the public or private sector, dealing with real estate or property management issues.
• Experience developing strategic partnerships and working directly with a range of partners (local government, First Nations, private sector).
• Experience to manage a diversity of complex, multi-faceted projects simultaneously.
• Experience with First Nation consultation is preferred.
Salary: Salary: $65,033.32 - $74,351.64 annually
