Job Description / Duties
The Role
We are seeking a Paralegal or experienced legal professional for a one year contract, to provide administrative support to our Legal, Real Estate and Properties department. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Contract Administration: Assisting in the preparation and administration of crown tenures, non-governmental agreements, rental reviews, payments, anniversaries and new applications.
Real Estate: Assisting in conveyancing of real estate properties for sale by Couverdon Real Estate, the real estate business of TimberWest.
Property Inventory: Managing and administering data entry into Landat property management system.
Research: Researching and providing property ownership, boundary information, survey and other information to various internal departments.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Required Skills and Experience
> 5 + years of work experience in a legal environment
> Previous paralegal with real property experience, RIBC or legal secretarial experience an asset
> Experience with legal drafting and research an asset
> Knowledge of land title and registry system an asset
> Strong attention to detail
> Demonstrate proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, writing and proofreading skills
> Self-starter and confident working alone or in teams
> Strong interpersonal and communication skills
> Exceptional multi-tasking abilities
