Job Description / Duties
BC Assessment has a unique and exciting opening for a Senior Appraiser (Bargaining Unit position) in our Dawson Creek office.
As the most senior level bargaining unit supervisor and/or specialist in the office, you can expect to manage stand alone projects and provide effective leadership to Appraisers, Appraiser I’s and Appraiser Trainees. You will also be accountable for the areas of Roll Preparation, Audit and Quality Assurance, Roll Defence, and Customer Service.
You will also participate and/or chair a variety of meetings and provide input into policy, legislation, procedural systems, and best practice changes.
Finally, you may review requirements for legal opinions with staff and management, consult with industry stakeholders, BC Assessment staff and committees to develop and recommend changes to rates, regulations and business rules.
Qualifications / Required Skills
If you are an experienced and passionate professional with an undergraduate degree in Commerce or Business Administration (other undergraduate degrees may also be considered with a preference for Economics, Urban Geography, Urban Planning or Engineering) and accreditation with the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AACI) or designation with the Real Estate Institute of BC with the Diploma in Urban Land Economics, appraisal or assessment, this is the opportunity for you!
You will bring four years of progressively complex appraisal, supervisory and project management experience to this important role.
Please Note: you must possess a valid class 7N (minimum) BC Automobile driver’s license (or equivalent), and be eligible to work in Canada.
