Job Board > Executive Officer - Real Estate Council of BC
This is a Permanent, Full-time position.
Category:Province: Vancouver, British Columbia
Position: Executive Officer
Deadline: August 16, 2016
Posted: June 24, 2016
Job Description / Duties
The Real Estate Council of British Columbia is a regulatory agency established by the provincial government to protect the public interest by enforcing the licensing and licensee conduct requirements of the Real Estate Services Act. The Council is responsible for licensing individuals and brokerages engaged in real estate sales, rental and strata property management. The Council also enforces entry qualifications, investigates complaints against licensees and imposes disciplinary sanctions under the Act.
The retirement of the incumbent and long serving Executive Officer of the Council has created an opportunity for a dynamic leader to assume the chief staff responsibilities and to lead a team of 50 motivated individuals, while working with a dedicated board of representatives from the industry as well as the public.
The next Executive Officer has been in a senior management/leadership role in an organization of comparable scope and complexity to the Real Estate Council of BC. Knowledge of regulation, government and stakeholder relations and board governance will be seen as assets. Knowledge of the real estate industry, while an asset, is not essential. The new Executive Officer is a leader who brings a background in managing complex stakeholder relationships in a topical, high profile environment, and who brings political savvy, effective staff leadership and a track record of effective issues management.
This is an exciting opportunity for that unique leader who thrives on challenges in dynamic environment and who cares deeply about the protection of public interest.
