Walk & Talk details:

Transformation of the City of North Vancouver’s Waterfront

The City of North Vancouver’s waterfront is undergoing a dramatic transformation and quickly becoming a popular destination for markets, summer concerts and other cultural events. Meeting at Lonsdale Quay, we will walk east, with our first stop at the Foot of Lonsdale. This area, currently under construction, is transitioning from a former waterfront parking lot into a significant new public gathering area and the future home of Polygon Gallery, an internationally renowned media arts gallery.  Carrying on to The Shipyards, we will explore the reimagined historic shipyard. The Shipyards is home to unique public and event venue space as well as commercial and residential development. The City’s plans for Lot 5, a city-owned vacant parcel of land in the middle of The Shipyards site, will be discussed, as will the integration of the Spirit Trail,  a multi-use trail spanning the waterfront.

Heather Reinhold is the Manager, Waterfront and has been working with a diverse team at the City of North Vancouver on waterfront development over the past decade.
