Salary $62,983.74 - $78,666.02 annually
One temporary opportunity is currently available until March 31, 2019

Reporting to a Section Head or an excluded Manager, the Senior Licensed Authorizations Officer is accountable for making resource authorization decisions and recommendations on complex applications consistent with legislation and regulations. This role encompasses applying professional expertise and providing direction and guidance in the development and implementation of new procedures, methods and practices; conducting and leading conflict resolution, public consultation processes and education/training initiatives to negotiate and resolve disputes among conflicting parties over the use of Crown land; and developing and promoting partnerships with officials from all levels of government, First Nations representatives, stakeholders and landowners to support the administration and disposition of Crown land. This position supervises professional and technical staff.

Qualifications for this role include:
• Master’s degree in a resource management field , and two years of related experience or
• Bachelor’s degree in a resource management field, and three years of related experience AND
• Registered, or immediately eligible for registration as a professional, with the British Columbia professional association as required by the specialty area (i.e. BC Institute of Agrologists, Association of BC Forest Professionals, Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC, Corporation of BC Land Surveyors).
Note: Immediately eligible is defined as being registered as a professional in another Canadian jurisdiction and able to transfer that membership to a BC professional association within 6 months of employment. It is the responsibility of the applicant to have their qualifications reviewed by the appropriate body to ensure they have the necessary requirements for registration.)
