Salary $87,600.00 – $114,100.00 annually
The Director leads a team of about 10-15 professional staff responsible for delivering projects and providing project oversight and is responsible for ensuring that services provided by his/her staff meet Branch quality and performance expectations: on time, on budget and to the level of quality and client experience expected. Complex accommodation and real estate projects are delivered by the Director’s team through direct engagement of private sector project managers, architects, engineers, specialist consultants and contractors while lower complexity projects may be delivered through Real Property Division’s Service Provider.
The Director will work directly, and in support of staff, with Real Property Division, client and stakeholder executive, senior and end-user clients and the consulting and construction community throughout the life of a project in securing approvals and managing and resolving project related issues. A key accountability for the Director is putting in place and managing conditions for success of his/her staff including managing staff workloads, training and development and staff performance management.
Qualifications / Required Skills
• Recognized University Degree or Certification in Architecture (MAIBC or eligible) or Engineering (APEGBC or eligible) or a related discipline (ASct, PMP, CCIM) and an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10 years project management experience including coordination of resources and project team members.
• 7 years of experience guiding Major Capital projects from concept plan/feasibility to completion. Preference may be given to applicants with over 7 years’ experience.
• 7 years of experience developing, procuring and managing large budget construction projects. Preference may be given to applicants with over 7 years’ experience.
• 7 years of experience managing and leading professional staff.
• Demonstrated experience in managing contentious and sensitive situations with government and media.
• Preference may be given to applicants who have experience with projects procured as public/private partnerships.
