If you are seeking to establish or progress your career in the land acquisition and management sector and the public service, we have two rewarding opportunities available for you to apply your education and gain valuable experience and training.
Working within a team of professional Property Agents and reporting to the Property Manager, you will be responsible for land acquisition and property management functions for Provincial Government purposes. A professional level of expertise is required in the application of advanced appraisal techniques and value judgments to determine property values for negotiations and/or expropriation purposes and to create and/or modify legal documents pertaining to real estate transactions.
Using your excellent negotiation skills to acquire and sell property and strong understanding of real estate valuation principles, contracts, survey/construction plans, and Land Titles procedures, you will manage the work of external groups to facilitate land negotiations, identify and resolve issues arising from property acquisition for roadway projects, and establish and maintain a strong network of contacts with private sector resources in performing these duties.
Highly developed skills in oral and written communication, human judgment, organization of time and effort will enable you to successfully expedite negotiations and to provide real estate expertise to senior management and other government departments for policy and decision making purposes.

Salary: $2,772.38 - $3,652.68 bi weekly ($72,359 - $95,335 annually). Closing Date: Open until a suitable candidate is selected. Job ID #1011145.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Qualifications: University graduation in a related field plus 6 years of directly related experience in property acquisition, appraisals and property valuation, sale of property and drafting of a broad range of real estate agreements.
The AACI designation with the Appraisal Institute of Canada or SR/WA designation with the International Right of Way Association is required. Candidates working toward their designation will be considered at a lower classification and salary range.
Equivalencies will be considered including additional directly related experience in lieu of education. Extensive directly related Experience with MS Office is also required.
A valid Class 5 Driver's license is required. Candidates with lesser experience may be considered at a lower classification and salary level. This competition may be used to fill future vacancies within the Government of Alberta.
