2023_Awards/Damien-2EditedCentred.JPGDamien Roussin is the Chief Operating Officer at Dorset Realty Group where he oversees day-to-day operations, as well as develops and implements long-term plans for growth and success. Damien grew up in the Lower Mainland and attended both UBC and SFU.  He began his professional career with Dorset in 2007, progressed through the company and stepped into his current role in 2018, taking the helm of a nearly 50 year old family owned and operated company, a truly rewarding honour. Damien attributes working in different departments of the business from an early age to giving him an end to end view of real estate assets, something he values greatly.  

Damien lives in Vancouver with his wife and 3 year old son. In his spare time, you can find him on the golf course, at the curling rink, or enjoying a bike ride with his son.

With 18 years of experience, he specializes in residential real estate and currently works as a Realtor and educator. Daniel is a Past Chair at the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver and a proud member of the Sutton Group—Seafair Realty team since 2005, assisting families and investors across Metro Vancouver. His success stems from staying on top of industry trends and evolving real estate regulations, ensuring his clients achieve their goals. As a passionate educator, Daniel teaches at Langara College and serves as the Program Head for the Professional Real Estate diploma program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, maintaining high standards through a modern curriculum. In the boardroom, he was elected Chair of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver in 2022, leading efforts to increase housing supply and support buyers and sellers in a dynamic market. Daniel holds professional designations, including R.I. from the Real Estate Institute of British Columbia and ICD.D from the Institute of Corporate Directors. Alongside his professional commitments, he volunteers with organizations such as the Richmond School District, Steveston Community Centre, and the REBGV Blanket Drive. In his leisure time, Daniel enjoys staying active and is an avid runner.

John McCarthy

2023_Awards/john-mccarthy.jpgJohn is Vice President of McCarthy Properties, where he is responsible for all management, operations, and leasing of the firms privately held real estate portfolio and works as a broker and consultant across multiple real estate asset classes. Actively engaged in healthcare philanthropy, John is currently Chair of the BC Cancer Foundation Board of Directors (the youngest Chair in the Foundations 87-year history) and is a member of the Burnaby Hospital Fundraising Cabinet in support of the redevelopment of Burnaby Hospital. John is a graduate of the British Columbia Institute of Technology, where he finished first in his class in the Professional Real Estate program and earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration (with Distinction). He lives in Vancouver with his wife Alaiza and is passionate about strengthening local communities through his work in real estate and philanthropy.  

Troy Abromaitis

2022_Awards/Abromaitis-Troy.jpgTroy MacBeth Abromaitis, a member of the Nlaka'pamux Nation, is a seasoned senior executive currently serving as the Director of Development for the Bucci Group of Companies. With nearly two decades of experience, he has successfully managed over 30 development projects across Western Canada, including notable communities like the Orion Master Plan in Surrey, Dominion Towers in Calgary, and Broadway projects in Vancouver. Troy is not only dedicated to sustainable corporate growth but also actively contributes to community building through charitable causes, volunteerism, and heritage preservation. He holds positions on the Boards of the Canadian Home Builder's Association of BC Fraser Valley and Lytton Economic Development Corp, while also serving as the President of the Rotary Club of West Vancouver and being involved in various other community organizations. Additionally, Troy's extensive professional qualifications as a licensed Builder, Managing Broker, Mortgage Broker, Realtor, and Property Manager, along with his recognition as a Top 40 Under 40 by multiple esteemed publications, further highlight his expertise and accomplishments. Furthermore, Troy demonstrated his commitment to his Indigenous community by personally raising over $60,000 to aid in rebuilding efforts after devastating wildfires hit Lytton First Nation. For his contributions, he received a National Philanthropy Award at the Canadian Mortgage Awards.
